~Junkanoo on Rawson Square~

Hey guys so I had the chance to go to our annual Junior Junkanoo Parade lastnight. This year they celebrated 25yrs of Junior Junkanoo being in existence. I really enjoyed myself and the music was sweet as you can see from my video clips above. For those who dont know what Junkanoo is I'll give you a little history.

 History of Junkanoo

It is believed that this festival began during the 16th and 17th centuries. The slaves were given a special holiday at Christmas time, when they could leave the plantations to be with their family and celebrate the holidays with African dance, music and costumes. After emancipation, they continued this tradition and, today, Junkanoo has evolved from its simple origins to a formal, more organized parade with sophisticated, intricate costumes, themed music and incentive prizes. Junkanoo is a national festival in The Bahamas, the only place where it holds such an honor. There is even a museum showcasing Junkanoo costumes, art and artifacts in downtown Nassau--a cultural highlight and must-see attraction for all visitors.

Tis the Season!

Hey lovebirds I know its been a few days now that I haven't posted anything but I'm back! Okay so this look was for my church Christmas Production. I really wanted to wear this black dress but I still wanted my look to give a Christmas feel so I wore a royal blue blazer and gold accessories and shoes. ~enjoy~
This necklace was bought from a jewelry store in the States on a conference trip. I dont recall the name of the store I bought it from though. My watch was bought  from a local store here in The Bahamas by the name of Suntime and my ring was made by yours truly:)
My cousin and I.They say we look alike lol. He wont admit that he only wore this color because I told him I was wearing royal blue. family<3

Beautiful Saturday!

Today was such a beautiful day. I attended a small wedding and did some shopping! The bride was absolutely beautiful I made her fascinator. After that I went shopppping I loveee shopping. I'll post a pic of my outfit of choice as well as my weekend finds:)
Quick Tip: You can be fashionable without spending a whole lot of money. Shop wisely!!

My Weekend finds:)

So from left to right: my babies omg I love them. The flats are from makers.com never heard about them but I will be buying their brand of shoes again! I needed some gray heels so I got them. I was in need of a dressy long jean pant so I got that and also a holiday inspired knited sweater top I'll definately be wearing during the Christmas holiday.

This pair of black flats is definately the most money I've ever spent on a pair of flat shoes in my life, my mom is still laughing at me because my heart hurts when I think about how much money I spent but it was allll worth it.These Franco Sarto flats are really comfortable and seems to be quality shoes. I bought them more so for church or work I wont really wear them casually.
These basketball wives hoop earrings are saucyyy (get use to this word especially on this blog lol) I had to purchase them.

So this was a yard of chain I bought from a local fabric store and I decided to make a simple silver necklace and bracelet I'll definately be wearing this set alot.

For my fellow Bahamians my Weekend Finds were mostly bought in The Mall at Marathon.
